GIDE is out of Vantaa, which is where Helsinki’s airport is located and this little adventure of his into House/Trance music takes off at full throttle, using the entire length of the runway. (You wouldn’t believe how long it took me to think that up!)
This isn’t a genre I’m particularly knowledgeable about but I’m more than happy to give space where someone comes up with a new angle. I’m thinking of Sweden’s Braunbeer for example, who made it into our ‘Songs of the Year’ for 2024 and I see no reason why GIDE shouldn’t do the same this year if he keeps this standard up.
I thought at first he was a new artist but from his social media I see that he has been releasing since at least mid-2021 and it’s fair to say he’s got the hang of it by now.
‘All set for adventure’ was recorded in the autumn of 2024.
His influences are a whole lot of people I’ve never heard of so I’ll move on, and his purpose here is to meld House vibes and Trance beats in his own image.
I don’t know about you but t me the adventure has already started here as he revs up the volume, complexity and and intensity on a track which might stand as a replacement for Vangelis’ iconic Chariots of Fire theme.
In fact, if you think of Chariots of Fire for the Ibiza dance floor rather than the racetrack you’ve got it.
