We’ve had some interesting alternative professions in NMC over the years, most notably university professors; I recall a fair few of those moonlighting in the music business. But never to the best of my knowledge a professional footballer.
Kevin Walker, currently based in Örebro in central Sweden,played for a number of clubs as a midfielder and won the Swedish Cup Final in 2018. He also played at international level.
More pertinently he won the ninth series of the Swedish incarnation of Idol in 2013 so multitasking was always in the blood.
And guess what, he’s a pundit now, one of Gary, Alan, Danny and the lads, analysing the expected goal ratios, how many kilometres the left back ran and why it was never offside, Ref.
I was wondering about the name Walker and why it seems to be common in the Nordic music industry. But he has no known connection to electro-pop king Alan up there in Norway, who is originally out of Northampton I think, while it looks as if he has some Irish in the blood.
